Kim and Chris Camera Toss

The experiments continue…

was going great until one of the groomsmen tried to trip me…

Now clearing at least 4 metres high, can’t wait to try this with a proper fisheye.

Camera Toss at Peel Manor

Getting better, but no cigar just yet!

But I’m not giving up just yet. Have to try with a real 180 degree fisheye.

Camera Toss

Learning this cool, but extreme technique before I add this to my wedding and prewedding repertoire.

This is a form of auto-portrait and any by-standers (even my dog) standing nearby are always going to look transfixed and spell-bound. There’s no talking or eyes closed here! Might introduce this during the family portrait sessions. Or maybe not!

Camera used is a 12 year old professional EOS original, weighting over 2 kgs, lens is a 10-20 Sigma.

For those interested I set the timer to 2 seconds and program the camera to take three quick shots in a row, by using exposure bracketing, 1/3 on each side. Shutter speed has to be fast (2000-4000) Aperture at least 6 and then determine ISO, usually 400-800 during daylight. This camera is definitely not full frame, so ideally full frame, square–shaped camera with fish-eye lens will produce excellent results.

Of the 10 throws I did that day one happened to be a stumble then drop… not too good for the gear. In the below image can you find the camera’s shadow on the grass?

The Camera Toss is is a form of Kinetic Photography. Creating an image by moving the camera. Ryan Gallagher started this sometime before 2005. Visit his how-to blog for full instructions:  http://cameratoss.blogspot.com/.
